What is Vedic Astrology?

As we know, we all are souls incarnating into human bodies. The events occurring in our lives are a reflection of karmas performed by us in previous births. The influence of karmas of past births and planetary positions on us is depicted by astrology. The term Vedic means derived from Vedas, “The ancient Scriptures” written by profoundly wise people in India. These scriptures were based on all the aspects of world which influence the belief system and life style of any person. So, Vedic astrology is based on spiritual, economic, social and cultural and technological aspects of one’s life. It is said to be founded by a sage of ancient times, Maharishi Prasara.
Vedic astrology is composed of certain measures which may help a person lead a happy and smooth life. The most powerful tool of it is the prediction of Dashas. As we know, planetary movements and positions influence our life; Dashas predict the time period for which any particular planet is effective or most active. Dashas are based on the placement of moon in the chart. So, exact time of birth is must to get the accurate information. Dashas can be of varying types but Vimshottridasha is most commonly studied.
Another helpful tool is Varshphal, which is the chart of solar return. It actually predicts the possible events either positive or negative in the upcoming year and suggests some remedial measures in lieu of that. In fact, predicting the best dates for any new task is easy with Vedic Astrology. People prefer to consult an astrologer to know the favorable period to start any new task. The favorable time is called Muhurta.
Lunar Nakshatras are also considered important as far as Vedic astrology is concerned. It is actually that part of constellation where moon is present. This helps to predict about a person’s personality. Thus, Vedic astrology is efficient in touching each and every corner of one’s life.
